Jeanne Clayton
Class of 1969

  • A pioneer in girls athletics.

  • First head coach in basketball and softball at VHS.

  • Compiled incredible 53-5 record in softball. A .913 winning pct. which is the best all- time for coaches at VHS.

  • Her players nomination of her remarked that she spent so much time teaching them sportsmanship and taking an interest in their lives.

Gene

Gene Dick
Class of 1944

  • Captain of the 1943 Regional Championship team and also of the 1944 VHS team.

  • Catcher on the school softball team and outstanding member of the track team at VHS.

  • Played basketball at Murray State University winning Varsity Letters from 1949-51.

  • Coached basketball and baseball at Pope County and Hurst Bush High Schools as well as basketball, baseball, and football at Newman High School where he retired as Principal in 1992.

Allison

Allison (Phillips) Quereshi
Class of 1993

  • As a four year starter- helped establish Vienna as a state power in softball.

  • Holds season record for wins in a season with 31.

  • Holds career record for innings pitched with 772 2/3.

  • Holds career record for no- hitters with 7.

  • Had career record of 92-31 with 969 strikeouts.

  • Hit .332 for career with 97 RBI's.

  • Received scholarship to Rend Lake College.
